Called XK70 internally, the third-generation Tundra made its debut for 2022 with downsized engine options (including a hybrid system), a more rugged-looking exterior design, and a longer list of available technology features. It also received an independent rear suspension system. The range includes Double Cab and CrewMax models, and both are offered in several trim levels. Production continues today.
Power comes from a gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain, which consists of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and an electric motor/generator unit. The system develops 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, and it spins the rear or the four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
